PROJECT APPROACH
Each project is unique. As a project manager certified in several methodologies, I take a flexible approach to projects. Together, we’ll work to determine whether we should use a traditional “waterfall” approach - where step 1 leads to step 2 and so forth - or whether an agile approach - where we bring your project to life through iterations might bring better results. My work applies wide-ranging experience from working in non-profit organizations, and understand that your time and budget aren’t bottomless. I often find that a hybrid approach - combining the speed and dexterity of agile development with the limits of a waterfall approach - best serves projects.
I will deliver value to you and your customers, and I understand the importance of focusing a team on doing good work and building a collaborative and positive work environment.
TEAMS & CHANGE
Changing enterprise software or even making smaller process changes can present challenges for many organizations. Software is a useful tool, but is not a cure-all. To make your project successful, we will examine how your teams are currently operating and make sure that your vision, strategies, and processes are aligned. We will also look at risks and determine appropriate strategies to eliminate or mitigate risk.
I will help your team navigate change. Risk is not a “four-letter word,” and preparing a team for change is essential for project success.
FACILITATION & EDUCATION
If your team needs help getting up-to-speed on using Tessitura or with process changes, I’ll help design and deliver training. Any successful project is dependent upon making sure that everyone understands the “why.” Why does this matter to your organization? Why does this matter to individual roles? Why does this matter to a patron of your organization?
Having someone at your side who understands effective training and facilitation is critical to success.
making the complex simple
Implementing or optimizing enterprise-level software/hardware is an intensive process. It takes three main elements: resources (often more than initially expected), technical skills (some of which may need to be developed in your teams), and a knowledge of both the industry and the software. Beyond these core elements are variables that are dependent on each unique organization, and that we will discover and address together.
Helping you sort out these complexities in a collaborative way is what I do. I will help you make sure that all stakeholders understand what is happening and why it is important, so that everyone can all support the success of your project.
